Thank you for writing a blog for our website. Blogging is a great way to share your story about how being a member of Comhaltas in Britain has impacted your life. There is power in our stories to encourage and inspire those around us. Enjoy writing your story!

Below we share some of our top tips for writing your blog.

  • Write about your own experiences.

  • Write as if you were telling a story to someone.

  • For style, have a read through other people’s blogs on our website to inspire you.

  • Have a brainstorm on a separate piece of paper about your experiences that you would like to share and write your blog around these.

  • Try and keep your blog to between 1500 - 1800 words.

  • If your story involves someone else, make sure you have their consent before sharing or anonymise them.

  • Share a photo or image to complement your blog. If your photo involves someone else, make sure you have their consent.

  • Take time to read through your blog and read it through from a reader's perspective, is it clear? Take time to make any adjustments you need before submitting.

Publishing your blog

  • We may edit your blog for web usability, clarity and grammar.

  • When we publish a blog, we like to publish the blogger’s first name and the instrument they play. If you would like to remain anonymous, please let us know when you submit your blog.

  • Your blog may not be used straight or may not be appropriate for the website.
